Lead was both a popular material for the ancient alchemist's work, and a metaphor for the imperfect raw material of the universe, a substance in which the spark of divine was hidden by impurities and invisible to the
uninitiated. The aim of the alchemist's work was to magnify this divine spark, so that it would purify and perfect the physical form in which it resided, transforming the impure raw material into an expression of
balance and perfection.
Central to this spiritual and physical work is the idea of Transmutation, the idea that through the correct intent and work, any thing can be brought to a higher state of being, and eventually to perfection. The
common notion of the alchemist working to turn lead into gold is just one expression of this path to perfection. The alchemist seeks to purify and elevate all that is worked on, and through this external
purification, achieve an internal perfection of the self.
In fact, in ancient texts, the transmutation of lead to gold was not seen as an end in itself, but rather a test of the alchemical medicine, to determine if it was pure enough to be taken internally. If the
alchemist's Stone was made truly perfect, it could in turn bring anything else to that same level of perfection, whether base metal or human.
Another important facet of alchemical thought is found in the saying "as above, so below; as below, so above." Much of the alchemist's work is done with the intent of making the laboratory into a perfect
microcosmic reflection of the macrocosmic universe all around us. This microcosm contains different spheres of influence and energy interacting with each other, as the planets do in the universe. As with the
transmutational work towards perfection, the creation and balancing of the microcosm takes place both outwardly and within the alchemist.
The different archetypal spheres within are groups of personal attributes, such as strengths, weaknesses, emotions, and mental states, and each inner group corresponds to a planetary archetype in the universe. Just
as the perfected Stone brings perfection to others, the alchemical medicine made through a balance between all the energies of the inner and outer universe brings that same harmonious balance to anyone who takes it.
In our modern and often difficult world, we are more in need of the perfecting, balancing medicines of the alchemist than ever. But few still follow this ancient science, which is so time-consuming and complex.
We have been practicing alchemy for many years now, working to make sure that the alchemist's tools for transmutation are available to anyone who wants to achieve a greater degree of balance and perfection. Our
extensive research into the philosophy and practice of alchemy and our personal dedication to it as a spiritual path have inspired and enabled us to perform the difficult, complex laboratory work needed to create
archetypal expressions of the planetary energies from plants.
These alchemical preparations, called Magisteries, take over a year to make, and include every possible constituent of the plant, extracted, purified, recombined, and elevated. After this process of transmutation,
the plant becomes a carrier of the archetypal energy of the planet under which it was made, and able to strengthen and balance the corresponding archetypes in anyone who uses the Magistery.
Our Tools for Transmutation kit is a collection of all of the planetary Magisteries, with a system for their use for spiritual growth. It contains all of the information and worksheets you need to look within and
find the areas of your life which need transformation into a higher state.
Using the planetary archetypes from the ancient alchemical texts as your guide, you will be able to examine and understand the qualities and patterns of the leaden weaknesses and golden strengths within you, and
using our perfected, balanced planetary alchemical medicines, you will work to transmute them all to Gold.
Our Tools for Transmutation Kit is $95. For more information or to order, please contact us.
