This kit contains a 5 ml. bottle of our Mastic Resin Initiatic, a 5 ml. bottle of our Mastic Ritual Oil, and 2 grams of raw Mastic resin in a satin drawstring bag (colours vary), with usage notes and tips.
Mastic is a resin collected from the Pistacia lenstiscus tree, which has been grown on the Greek island of Chios for at least 2500 years. Mastic gum has many traditional uses for healing and wellness, and like most tree gums, it is antiseptic, antibacterial, and stimulating to digestion and metabolism.
Spiritually, Mastic has long been revered as an incense and is also an ingredient in chrism, the holy anointing oil of the Easter Orthodox Church. In the time that we have been working with it, we have come to rely on it for keeping our home and personal space clear of negative energy and entities, and we reach for it as an incense, Initiatic, and Ritual Oil almost every day.
Mastic needs less heat than other resins in order to give off its beautiful scent, and can be warmed on a cup or candle warmer, radiator or heater, or even on a sunny windowsill. Be sure to put the resin into a dish so that it will not become stuck to other surfaces and damage them.
Our Mastic Initiatic brings a profound sense of stillness and clarified energetic space in which the practitioner can sink deeply into the embodied self, or easily separate the physical and non-physical being for astral travel and magickal workings. You can read more about the Initiatic here.
Our Mastic Ritual Oil has a clearing quality that rings like a high bell, pushing negativity back to create a sphere in which one is so protected that complete energetic openness is safe. This sensitivity can be used to connect with the self, other, both physical and not, to Nature, and to spiritual and magickal practice of any kind, especially of the Chthonic realms. You can read more about the Ritual Oil here.
This complex plant being expresses related but also different intelligences in each of these manifestations, and with this kit, you can weave them together and explore them all!
