Best known as an incense and sacred oil, Sandalwood also has a long history of internal use in Ayurveda. It is considered purifying and elevating, a tonic to the mind and nervous system. Its prabhava or special sacred power, is the awakening of intelligence and opening of the third eye, increasing devotion and promoting a meditative state.
