Snow Lotus

This rare plant is not related to Lotus, but its unusual white flower, rising out of the hardscrabble rock at over 12,000 feet in the Himalayas, is as dramatic and beautiful as a Lotus. Long used as a medicine and even a perfume (the rare Costus), Snow Lotus is emerging as an exciting “new” treatment for many modern diseases.

Traditionally, Snow Lotus has been used as an energy and longevity tonic, and it is said that it “melts away cancer”, in fact, several pharmaceutical companies have set up labs near its habitat to investigate extractions for cancer and other diseases.

It is a balancing tonic, beneficial in cases of poor energy or when the body’s systems need invigoration. It was known as the “beauty herb of Empresses”, as it is said to give a pearly glow to the skin- to the Taoists, this radiant outward sign of beauty marks deep levels of true inner health.
