We find the best way to get to know a plant is to taste it, and that’s how we start with any new herb we’re making into a Spagyric. We taste it raw, we taste it throughout the process, and we taste the final Spagyric to see how it has evolved through its rebirth. And, so we can communicate all this information to you, we also journal our experience throughout the tastings.
That’s why we were so excited to find this tasting journal! Since we’ve been using it, we’ve found it more focused and useful than just a plain notebook, since it guides you through different aspects of connecting to the plant or Spagyric you’re getting to know. If you’re new to this type of bioassay process, you can just start by taking your taste, and then filling in your experiences and observations in sections for:
- Herb Name
- Energetics (cool or warm; drying or moisturizing; constricting or relaxing, and so on)
- Properties
- Cautions
- Recipes & Rituals
- and even Planetary Correspondence!
It’s printed on heavy paper, with a nice thick cover in deep green with green foil accents. It’s spiral bound, so it stays open on your desk or altar, and it has 64 pages of 7×9 inch size. Best of all, it was designed, printed and assembled by hand in an independent paper goods studio in New York, so it supports another small business like ours!
