Verum

This formula is based on the three purifying herbs used for magickal cleansing in the 18th century grimoire, the Grimorium Verum. In that text, Rosemary, Mint and Marjoram are made into a bundle which is used to sprinkle consecrated water on a space or person needing blessing and protection.

To make this formula, we cultivated the three plants in our garden, working with them all summer to keep them healthy and also consecrate them for their ultimate purpose in the Initiatic. They were harvested on the day and hour of Mercury, as instructed in the text, and Spagyrically processed under Mercury’s rulership as well. Once extracted together, the formula was spiritualized by our usual process, unifying into a new whole intelligence.

Tasting this Initiatic, it is hard to pick out the flavour or energy of any one of the plants, since they have unified into one direction together. The effects start with a clearing quality, lifting any brain fog and mental sluggishness and bringing a lightness and literal sensation of light to the awareness. This is accompanied by a high pitched sound like a bell, and we find that working with bells or singing bowls further activates this quality.

In meditation, Verum brings awareness of the light of consciousness as a radiance that can expand to fill any space, while still remaining centered at its source fire. This light can be expanded into other places, but in a way that is different from most astral projection herbs. It is clearing and protective in the way that Frankincense or Mastic are- by bringing in so much positivity and light that the darkness flees and only good remains.
